The third generation of the family business "Gletscherblick".

Completely unexpectedly, the Hirsig family had to say goodbye to their "dad", as the third generation called Fritz Hirsig, in August 1986. Until the end, he was the epitome of the passionate hotelier who was always concerned about the well-being of his guests and family. His children, however, immediately showed their determination to defy the stroke of fate and to courageously continue his life's work. Frieda Hirsig, "s'Muetti", was the driving force with her experience and her ability and the children helped energetically.
In the Christmas letter of 1986 it can be read: "We 5 children with spouses are united: we want to continue together the life's work of our parents and grandparents in the same spirit and sense as it was built up. We will now strive to continue to maintain and improve the Gletscherblick with possible renovations in the coming year, just as Dad did every year. So we hope, as the young generation, to be able to continue to welcome the many loyal guests from Gletscherblick." The management of the house was taken over alternately by the couples Peter and Fiona Hirsig Town, Rosine and Leo Biebl Hirsig, Christine and James Branch Hirsig. Johannes Hirsig, who by now lived in Embrach and was a respected doctor, and Anneliese Geyer Hirsig supported their siblings from afar.
It was always a great concern of the third generation to maintain the good friendships with numerous guests from all over the world, some of which had existed since childhood days. So it is not surprising that many friendships continue to this day. Not only the Hirsigs, no, also the loyal guests made the "Gletscherblick" something special!

Although after the boom of the 60s the hotel industry faced difficult times and also in the "Gletscherblick" the number of beds had to be reduced, further modernizations were also on the agenda in the last decades. A new, contemporary gastro-kitchen was built on the same level as the restaurant, and at the same time the entire entrance area was redesigned. Old and new thus go hand in hand in this house and we strive to ensure that the history of the "Gletscherblick" remains visible to our guests. Maintaining the balance between tradition and today's needs is a difficult balancing act, which we hope we have succeeded in doing.

During the 100-year history of the hotel on the Hasliberg, a lot has also changed in the Haslital. The Hasliberg was made accessible by the Brünig Pass road in 1907, and in 1960 the gondola lifts were built, so the summer holiday resort now also became a popular winter sports destination. Even if the offers of the tourist region are constantly expanding, the indescribably beautiful and varied nature, the imposing panorama remain the real attraction of the place. That is why we invite you to stay, according to the motto of the glacier view:

Forget it for a while Louf und Hascht, chehr in, mach Rascht, blib iise Gascht.
