GRAF VON HARDENBERG

The wonderfully painted doors and beams in the house were created by a loyal guest and friend of Elise Hirsig, Count von Hardenberg, a descendant of Novalis, who stayed at Gletscherblick for a long time. He not only decorated the doors, but also had humorous ideas for their lettering. For example, one of the toilet doors read: “Eile mit Weile” and the other “Weile mit Eile”. Several artists have visited and left their mark on the “Gletscherblic” over the more than one hundred years of its existence, and their stay was not often paid for with art, which is why you will find smaller and larger treasures throughout the building.
